BJP legislators Ramesh Mishra and Abhay Singh took to the podium on August 5 to assert that the Brahmin vote bank has consistently favored the BJP, dismissing the Samajwadi Party’s claims of Brahmin support. Mishra referenced the 2017, 2019, 2022 and 2024 elections, stating that on the ground, Brahmins continue to cast ballots for the BJP.
Singh accused the SP of insulting the community by asking journalists to identify castes such as Pandey, Tiwari or Shukla, labeling it a thinly veiled vote‑bank outreach before the upcoming polls. Both legislators warned that the SP’s attempts to court Brahmins would not translate into actual votes.
