CR Kesavan, a prominent figure in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has strongly criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, labeling him a ‘political puppet of Pakistan.’ Kesavan’s remarks followed Gandhi’s allegations that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had ‘surrendered’ to a call from former US President Donald Trump, agreeing to a cessation of hostilities with Pakistan. Kesavan accused Gandhi of attempting to exploit Pakistan’s agenda to revive his political career, asserting that Gandhi’s actions were being highlighted on Pakistani TV channels, furthering an anti-India narrative. Kesavan expressed his disapproval of Gandhi’s intelligence, honesty, and demeanor, reiterating that Gandhi’s efforts would be unsuccessful. Gandhi had previously criticized the BJP-led government regarding allegations of US mediation in Operation Sindoor, contrasting Modi’s actions with those of Indira Gandhi during the 1971 war. Gandhi further addressed Congress workers, criticizing the BJP-RSS, and alleging their tendency to yield under pressure. This response comes after the US President Donald Trump claimed credit for stopping hostilities between India and Pakistan after India’s response to the terror infrastructure in Pakistan and PoJK following the Pahalgam terror attack, an event that led to India conducting Operation Sindoor.
