BJP leader CR Kesavan has strongly criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, labeling him a ‘political puppet of Pakistan.’ Kesavan’s remarks followed Gandhi’s allegations that Prime Minister Narendra Modi ‘surrendered’ to US President Donald Trump’s call for a cessation of hostilities with Pakistan. Kesavan asserted that Gandhi’s statements are being amplified on Pakistani television channels, propagating a ‘poisonous narrative’ against India and its armed forces. Kesavan further expressed his disapproval by stating that Gandhi’s actions demonstrated ‘little intelligence, so much dishonesty, and so much arrogance.’ Earlier, Gandhi had criticized the BJP-led government, alleging US mediation in Operation Sindoor and contrasting Modi’s response with Indira Gandhi’s stance during the 1971 war. Addressing Congress workers, Gandhi accused the BJP-RSS of succumbing to pressure. In the context of Operation Sindoor, India had responded to the Pahalgam terror attack by targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and PoJK. Donald Trump has previously taken credit for de-escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the Indian response.
