BJP Youth Wing Leader Held for Alleged Sexual Assault in Karnataka

In a swift police operation, Karnataka authorities have detained a prominent BJP Youth Morcha figure accused of raping a woman in Bhadravati. The 23-year-old complainant stated that the accused, who posed as a friend of her husband, used Instagram to build familiarity and visited the family’s grocery shop regularly. On April 11, while she was alone, he allegedly raped her and threatened to ruin her reputation if she spoke out. A follow-up incident of harassment occurred later that month. After discovering blocked messages on his wife’s phone, the husband learned the truth, prompting the couple to engage the accused in a WhatsApp conversation that revealed his motives. They subsequently filed a police report at Paper Town station. Investigators tracked the suspect to a hideout in Bengaluru and arrested him late Sunday. The case highlights how digital platforms and personal trust were allegedly exploited, leading to serious criminal charges against a local political figure.
