BJP National Spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari criticized the Congress party on Saturday, accusing them of disseminating “half-truths” concerning India’s decision to abstain from the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) vote on a Gaza ceasefire. Bhandari urged Congress to review India’s official explanation of its vote at the UN before expressing strong disapproval. He pointed out that India’s abstention aligns with its consistent stance on the Israel-Gaza conflict, emphasizing the country’s commitment to condemning civilian casualties, advocating for humanitarian aid, and supporting a two-state solution. Bhandari labeled the Congress as a “fake news factory” in response to comments made by Congress leader Pawan Khera, who had labeled India’s response as a “shameful betrayal.”
