The Bombay High Court has upheld the decision to close the pigeon feeding areas, known as ‘kabootarkhanas,’ in Dadar, Mumbai. The court cited concerns about the health issues faced by citizens due to these areas and appointed a team of doctors to investigate. Further decisions will be made after the committee submits its report. Until then, the ban on feeding pigeons will remain in effect. The closure has been a subject of discussion in Mumbai. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had initially closed the areas to protect public health, leading to protests from the Jain community. The matter was brought before the Bombay High Court.
