Neeraj Kumar of the Janata Dal (United) has demanded decisive steps against illegal constructions and infiltration along India’s borders. In his remarks to IANS, the party spokesperson said the international boundary is well-defined and any encroachment must be cleared immediately. He pointed out that the issue has persisted along the West Bengal and Bihar borders with Bangladesh since 1992, and identification drives are now underway. The leader emphasized that citizenship rights belong only to Indians, and foreigners cannot stay here without valid permission. He rejected any notion that illegal residents should be protected under the guise of humanitarian concerns. Turning to opposition politics, Kumar dismissed arguments about who leads the INDIA alliance, instead asking what policies the bloc stands for. He reminded that several regional leaders possess equal stature and experience. On Karnataka’s internal Congress turmoil, Kumar said the episode raises questions about Rahul Gandhi’s grip on the party and called for transparency so that both voters and party workers understand where real authority lies.
