Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the BSNL 4G network, a domestically developed initiative. This network, deployed across 98,000 sites nationwide, aims to strengthen India’s self-reliance in telecommunications. The move follows the existing 4G and 5G networks provided by companies like Jio, Airtel, and Vi. The network is entirely software-based, cloud-based, and future-ready for 5G upgrades. It currently serves 22 million customers. Launched through the ‘Digital Bharat Nidhi,’ the network ensures 4G connectivity across the country, with the potential to be easily upgraded to 5G.
