BSP Chief Mayawati Demands Relief After UP Storms and Fuel Price Rise

In a fresh attack on the Centre and the Yogi Adityanath government, BSP president Mayawati has highlighted the twin crises facing Uttar Pradesh residents. Violent storms have caused widespread loss of life and property, while a fresh hike in petrol and diesel prices threatens to worsen the economic distress of millions. Writing on social media, Mayawati urged the state administration to act generously and swiftly in providing compensation, rebuilding homes and restoring livelihoods. She stressed that the latest increase of three rupees per litre in fuel costs would directly affect farmers, labourers and middle-class families already struggling with high living expenses. The former chief minister said the government must introduce meaningful policies to rein in inflation and protect vulnerable sections of society from further hardship.
