The brother of Raja Raghuvanshi, the Indore businessman murdered during his honeymoon in Meghalaya, is calling for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry. Vipin Raghuvanshi alleges that a recently surfaced phone conversation casts suspicion on Sonam Raghuvanshi’s family’s involvement in the crime. Police investigations indicate that Sonam orchestrated the murder with her lover, Raj Kushwaha, and three others. Raja’s body was found in a ravine in Sohra on June 2. Vipin claims the Meghalaya police’s investigation was inadequate, particularly regarding the easy bail granted to several co-accused. He also cited an unverified call recording suggesting Sonam communicated with her family from jail, a claim her family denies. He further accuses Sonam’s family of assisting with her bail. Recently, the East Khasi Hills Court granted bail to Silom James, who was accused of evidence tampering and sheltering Sonam and Raj. Earlier, Lokendra Singh Tomar and Balbir Ahirwa also received bail. Sonam, Raj Kushwaha, and the three alleged killers remain in judicial custody.
