The Union Health Ministry has announced a revision of rates under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS). These updated rates, affecting nearly 2000 medical procedures, will be implemented starting October 13, 2025. The revision marks the first adjustment since 2014 and considers factors such as ward entitlements, accreditation status, facility type, and city classification. CGHS provides subsidized medical services for various expenses, including diagnostic tests, consultations, surgeries, and hospitalization. The CGHS package encompasses a comprehensive range of services, from accommodation and nursing care to surgical procedures and essential investigations.
