Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated 51 Mahtari Sadans across the state from Kareli Badi village in the Magarlod development block of Dhamtari district. CM Sai highlighted the Mahtari Sadan Yojana, launched during the auspicious Navratri festival, as crucial for the progress of the state’s mothers and sisters.
He stated that the government had announced the construction of Mahtari Sadans to establish centers in villages for mothers and sisters to gather and work together in a spacious, well-equipped environment. This significant task has now been completed.
At the event, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Vijay Sharma, Revenue Minister Tankram Verma, Lok Sabha MP Roop Kumari Chaudhary, former minister and Kurud MLA Ajay Chandrakar, along with Secretary Niharika Barik and district-level officials, were present. The Chief Minister also handed over the Mahtari Sadan transfer certificate to the women’s group members of the Aastha Mahila Sankul Sangathan Kareli Badi. The Chief Minister also planted a sapling of the Maulsree tree on the premises.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the Mahtari Sadan would become a new center of power, respect, and self-reliance for mothers and sisters. These Sadans will open doors to education, skills, and entrepreneurship. He added that economic activities would be promoted by connecting women’s self-help groups to these centers. Various programs such as sewing, embroidery, knitting, handicrafts, agriculture-based training, and digital literacy will be conducted for mothers and sisters in the Mahtari Sadans.
