A total of ₹152.84 crore will be disbursed to 141,879 farmers in Chhattisgarh under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). This payment will be directly transferred to the accounts of the insured farmers. This includes ₹10.25 crore to 33,943 eligible farmers from the Kharif season 2024, and ₹142.58 crore to 107,936 eligible farmers from the Rabi season 2024-25.
The disbursement under the PMFBY will occur on Monday, August 11, via a nationwide direct benefit transfer-based automated system. The program will be held in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, under the chairmanship of Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chauhan. The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajanlal Sharma, will be the chief guest. Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Bhagirath Chaudhary, and Rajasthan’s Agriculture Minister, Dr. Keshari Lal Meena, will also be present as special guests.
Eligible insured farmers from Chhattisgarh will virtually join the event. The program will begin at 12 noon. Arrangements have been made at the offices of the Deputy Director of Agriculture at the district level and the Senior Agriculture Development Officer at the block level to enable maximum participation from the beneficiary farmers.
