A total of ₹152.84 crore will be disbursed to 141,879 farmers in Chhattisgarh under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY). This payment will be directly transferred to the accounts of the insured farmers. This includes claim payments of ₹10.25 crore to 33,943 eligible farmers from the Kharif season of 2024 and ₹142.58 crore to 107,936 eligible farmers from the Rabi season of 2024-25.
The disbursement under PMFBY will be made on August 11, i.e., Monday, through a nationwide direct benefit transfer-based automated system. The program will be held in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, and will be presided over by Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan. Bhajanlal Sharma, the Chief Minister of Rajasthan, will be the chief guest at the event. Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Bhagirath Choudhary, and Rajasthan’s Agriculture Minister, Dr. Kishori Lal Meena, will be special guests.
Eligible insured farmers from Chhattisgarh will virtually join the program.
The program will commence at 12 noon. Necessary arrangements have been made at the office of the Deputy Director of Agriculture at the district level and at the office of the Senior Agriculture Development Officer at the block level to enable the maximum number of beneficiary farmers to participate in the program virtually.
