A meticulously planned kidnapping for ransom has been foiled by the joint efforts of the Durg and Dhamtari police. The victim, a 16-year-old son of a local contractor, was safely rescued from the clutches of kidnappers who had demanded Rs 1 crore. The investigation led to the arrest of the victim's nephew, Sanjay Sahu, who had devised a plan to exploit his uncle's financial status. Sahu collaborated with four others, including a woman who was used to honeytrap the victim. The conspirators used Instagram to initiate contact with the teenage boy. A woman named Hempushpa Sahu was hired to engage the victim in romantic conversations over several days. Once trust was established, she lured him to a meeting spot, facilitating his abduction. The kidnappers used a grey Sentro car to transport the victim to a remote location in the Dhamtari district while making ransom demands.
