Mahasamund. The Excise Department raided the house of the brother of Balramakant Sahu, the independent candidate for the post of Tumgaon Nagar Panchayat president of the district, recovered 2 cases of Maharashtra brand and recovered 2 boxes of liquor. This liquor house was hidden inside the para.
Amidst the election stir in Tumgaon Nagar Panchayat, the Excise Department received information about keeping alcohol more than the informer. On this, the team raided the house of Independent candidate Balram Kant Sahu, who is contesting the post of Nagar Panchayat President, on the house located near the ward number 11, Ramsagar Para Talab. During the raid, his brothers, including Balramakant, got down on arguing with Excise officials. Meanwhile, Sahu Bhai started gathering a crowd of his supporters. The Excise Department came to know about this to the Tumgaon police. Then the Excise Department team searched the entire house.
On examining the para kept in Basant Sahu’s Bada, 197 quarters, 17.7 bulk liters of Maharashtra were recovered from 2 plastic sacks from there. The Excise Department registered a case under sections 34 (1) a, 34 (2), 59 (a) and 36 against the accused Basant Sahu and sent him to jail on judicial remand. On Friday morning, the excise team raided the house of Balramakant Sahu and his brother Basant Sahu again, but nothing was found from there. After this, Balaram Kant was offering offers to the officers to leave his brother.
Bundle of saree was also found, not confiscated when she is found
During the raid, the Excise Department also found a bundle of 25 sarees at the house of Independent candidate Balram Kant Sahu’s brother Basant Sahu, but the sari was not seized due to the bill being introduced. The Excise Department says that Basant Sahu’s brother Balaram Kant Sahu is an independent candidate from Tumgaon Nagar Panchayat. This liquor is feared to be called for voters to distribute. We did not seize it due to the sari bill.
