In a harrowing incident in a rural area of Dhamtari, Chhattisgarh, a 9-year-old schoolgirl was brutally attacked by a pack of stray dogs. The incident occurred in Mainpur village, located in the remote Borai area of the district. The girl, identified as Anya Netam, suffered severe injuries in the attack and was rushed to the district hospital. Doctors administered 15 stitches to treat her wounds. Following initial treatment, the severity of her condition prompted a referral to Raipur for further medical attention. The incident has instilled fear among the villagers.
The attack unfolded as Anya was playing behind her house after school hours. A group of five stray dogs surrounded her and began mauling her. She sustained deep bite wounds to her head, hands, and legs. Hearing her cries, villagers rushed to her aid and managed to fend off the dogs. She was initially taken to a government hospital in Nagri. Due to the lack of improvement, she was transferred to the Dhamtari district hospital. Ultimately, doctors decided to refer her to the Mekahara Hospital in Raipur for specialized care. Doctors noted the severity of the injuries, which left them astonished during treatment.
