Amit Pandey, Khairagarh. A pickup vehicle bringing the wedding processions from Temri village of Dhamdha block fell uncontrollably and fell into the Aamneer River late on Saturday evening. At the time of the accident, there were more than 20 processions in the vehicle, including women, men and children. Thankfully, no one died in this accident, although the condition of two people is said to be critical.
According to eyewitnesses, the driver was driving very carelessly. The driver tried to reverse the pickup of the baraatis who came out to visit Shani Dev Temple at Dharampura from Amalipara, but lost control and the vehicle fell directly into the river. The driver escaped from the spot after the accident.
Soon after the accident, there was a scream on the spot. Passengers and the people around, showing courage, jumped out of the bridge and took out the people who fell into the river and informed the police, dial 112.
Doctors kept waiting, family took private hospital
On receiving the information of the incident, the police reached the spot and informed the civil hospital management about the accident. The team of doctors in the hospital stood ready for the injured, but instead of taking them to the government hospital, the family members of the injured searched Google and took them to a private hospital in Dauchora, where only one doctor was present.
The police has started investigating the accident. According to preliminary information, the negligence of the driver is being held responsible for the accident. After the incident, there was an atmosphere of chaos in the area, but due to the promptness of the local people, a large loss of life was averted.
