The Sports and Youth Welfare Department of the Chhattisgarh government has announced the commencement of applications for the State Sports Awards for the years 2023-24 and 2024-25. The last date for submitting applications is June 26, 2025. These awards include the Shaheed Rajiv Pandey Award, Shaheed Kaushal Yadav Award, Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Award, Shaheed Vinod Choubey Award, and Veer Hanuman Singh Samman, along with the Chief Minister’s Trophy, monetary incentives, sports scholarships (diet money), and Prerna Nidhi. The purpose of these awards is to encourage players, coaches, and referees who have excelled at the state and national levels. Selection will be based on eligibility, achievements, and recommendations from sports associations. The Shaheed Rajiv Pandey Award carries a prize of ₹3 lakh, the Shaheed Kaushal Yadav and Veer Hanuman Singh awards offer ₹1.5 lakh each, the Pankaj Vikram and Vinod Choubey Samman provide ₹25,000 each, and the Chief Minister’s Trophy awards range from ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh depending on the team size. Athletes who have won national/international medals, performed well in state-level competitions, and players in the sub-junior, junior, and senior categories can apply. Athletes up to 19 years of age can apply for diet money. Applications can be obtained from the department’s website at http://sportsyw.cg.gov.in or from district/state sports offices. Applications for the Shaheed Pankaj Vikram Samman will only be accepted with recommendations from state sports associations. The last date for submission is June 26, 2025 (during office hours), and applications should be submitted to the Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Hockey Stadium, G.E. Road, Raipur, or the District Sports Office, Raipur. All certificates must be attached with the application. Incomplete or unclear applications will not be accepted. The decision of the selection committee will be final and binding. All eligible players, coaches, and sports associations are encouraged to apply on time to be a part of this honor.
