The Chhattisgarh government has approved the construction of 166 ‘Mahtari Sadan’ (Mothers’ Houses) across the state. The initiative aims to empower rural women, foster self-reliance, and promote community harmony. These facilities will facilitate collective participation in social programs and contribute to women’s empowerment. Each ‘Mahtari Sadan’ will be built on 2,500 square feet of land and will include essential amenities such as rooms, verandas, halls, kitchens, storerooms, tube wells for drinking water, and community toilets. The project has allocated Rs 30 lakh for the construction of each ‘Sadan’.
