Raipur, June 14, 2025/Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai has said that good health is the greatest asset of life. If we take a balanced diet, exercise regularly and get health check-ups from time to time, then many diseases can be prevented. The Chief Minister was addressing the grand free health camp organized at Jhulelal Dham, located on Canal Road, Raipur today.
On the occasion of the 94th birth anniversary of Pujya Baba Gurudas Ram Saheb Ji, this health camp was organized by Pujya Shadani Seva Mandal, Pujya Baba Garibdas Seva Mandal, Pujya Chhattisgarh Sindhi Panchayat, Bharatiya Sindhu Sabha and Pujya Kandkot Panchayat in collaboration with the Health Department. A large number of citizens underwent health check-ups and also got Ayushman cards made in the camp. Specialist doctors provided their services in the camp.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that due to today’s irregular lifestyle, adulterated food and polluted environment, diseases like BP and diabetes have now become common. Even the hardworking people of rural areas are no longer untouched by these diseases. In such a situation, the organization of such health camps is a highly commendable initiative.
Chief Minister Shri Sai, while praising the spirit of service of the Sindhi community, said that this community has been at the forefront of social concerns since the beginning. Recalling, he said that since he was an MP from Raigarh, he has been participating in various programs of the Sindhi community.
The Chief Minister said that the state of Chhattisgarh has entered its silver jubilee year and in this period, all-round development has taken place in all areas including health. In terms of health facilities, Chhattisgarh is emerging as a medical hub today. At the time of the formation of the state, where there was only one medical college, now 15 medical colleges are being operated by combining government and private sectors. Super specialty hospitals have also been established in the private sector. The medical facilities of primary health centers, community health centers and district hospitals have been strengthened. Health and Wellness Centers have also been started.
He said that many public welfare schemes are being run by the central and state governments to provide better treatment facilities to the common citizens. Under the Ayushman Bharat scheme started by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, free treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh is being provided to the poor. Along with this, all citizens above the age of 70 years are being given assistance of up to Rs 5 lakh for treatment under the Vay Vandan Yojana. Similarly, under the Mukhyamantri Vishesh Sahayata Yojana, the state government provides assistance of up to Rs 25 to 30 lakh for the treatment of serious diseases. Financial assistance is also given to eligible patients from the Chief Minister’s discretionary fund.
At the end, the Chief Minister honored Shri Amit Chimnani, the convener of the health camp, and the doctors who provided services in the camp.
On this occasion, MLA Shri Guru Khushwant Saheb, Dhamtari Mayor Shri Ramu Rohra, Chairperson of Chhattisgarh State Child Protection Commission Dr. Varnika Sharma, Program Convener Shri Amit Chimnani, President of Bharatiya Sindhu Sabha Shri Ladharam Ji, President of Chhattisgarh Sindhi Panchayat Shri Mahesh Daryani, along with social workers of Sindhi community, specialist doctors and a large number of citizens were present.
