Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has called an emergency cabinet meeting for Thursday. The meeting will address the upcoming visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and a proposal to provide compassionate appointment to the wife of ASP Akash Giripunje, who was martyred in the Konta Naxal attack. Amit Shah is scheduled to visit for two days on the 16th of the month. During his visit, he may visit Akash’s home to meet the family and hand over the compassionate appointment order to his wife. Shah will also meet with the soldiers involved in the Naxal operations in Bijapur. The dates for the monsoon session of the Legislative Assembly may also be finalized in this meeting. The Chief Minister expressed his respect for the brave soldier’s martyrdom through a tweet. He paid floral tributes to the mortal remains of ASP Akash Rao Giripunje, who attained martyrdom in the Naxal attack in Sukma, at the 4th Battalion of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force located in Mana, and paid his respects to his bravery and valor. He also shouldered the coffin. His sacrifice will not go in vain. Eradication of Naxalism and leading the Bastar region on the path of peace and development is our resolve. The campaign to make Chhattisgarh Naxal-free by March 2026 is at a decisive stage, and we will not back down. The government is showing sensitivity and administrative promptness.
