In Chhattisgarh’s Gariaband district, elephant activity has intensified once again. Two tuskers were sighted in the Rajim area Friday morning, causing a stir in the region.
According to sources, one elephant is present in the Khudesa forest and the other in the Tarjungha forest. These areas are just 5 km from the Nagar Panchayat Fingeshwar. It is reported that one elephant entered the Rajim area from Mahasamund district, while the other came from the border of Dhamtari district. The Forest Department has issued a high alert in approximately 25 villages, considering the situation serious. Villagers have been strictly advised not to go towards the forest, and awareness is being created among people through announcements.
The Forest Department team and members of the Elephant Mitra Dal are constantly monitoring the situation to prevent any loss of life or crop damage. The Forest Department has appealed to the villagers to avoid rumors and cooperate with the forest staff.
