A meeting of the Telecom Advisory Committee was held in Raipur on Saturday, chaired by Brijmohan Agrawal, Member of Parliament from Raipur and a senior BJP leader. Discussions centered on the current services provided by BSNL to consumers, future plans, and network expansion. MP Agrawal instructed BSNL officials to ensure high-quality services for consumers. He emphasized the need to strengthen the network in rural and remote areas, alongside urban centers.
Agrawal also advocated for prioritizing BSNL services in government institutions and offices, and he stressed the rapid expansion of 5G services. He advised BSNL to extensively promote its products and services through effective marketing strategies to attract more users.
T. K. Markam, Principal General Manager (Commercial Area Raipur) of BSNL, provided detailed information on BSNL’s 4G services, network expansion, and new initiatives. He highlighted that BSNL has launched 4G services in Naxal-affected villages where other service providers have not reached. Furthermore, over 700 schools have been provided with fiber connectivity under the Samagra Shiksha Yojana.
Markam also informed that under the Government of India’s Extended BharatNet scheme, 1.5 crore Bharat Fiber connections will be established nationwide. He expressed gratitude for the support provided by MP Agrawal in this regard. Other members of the Telecom Advisory Committee and senior BSNL officials were present at the meeting.
