A recent cabinet meeting yielded several significant decisions impacting various sectors within the state. State police officers from the 2005-2009 batch will receive promotions with the creation of 30 new posts. A joint venture with PanIIT will be established to empower marginalized communities through skill development and entrepreneurship. Amendments to the Motor Vehicles Taxation Act aim to reduce pollution and accidents, while allowing vehicle owners to transfer their preferred registration numbers to new vehicles for a fee, with the service being free for government vehicles. Further, the cabinet approved amendments to the Chhattisgarh Private Universities Act, along with a new student startup and innovation policy. This policy aims to reach 50,000 students and incubate 150 startups with a focus on agriculture, green energy, and healthcare. Additionally, amendments to the Agricultural Produce Market Act were approved to benefit farmers. A new development authority will be formed to oversee the development of the state capital region. Furthermore, the Chhattisgarh Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2025, and a bill for settling tax disputes were sanctioned. Amendments to the land revenue code will simplify land record management, and updates to the Kushabhau Thakre Journalism and Mass Communication University Act were also approved.
