A shocking incident has occurred in the Korba district, where a Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) constable opened fire at his in-laws’ residence, resulting in the deaths of his uncle-in-law and sister-in-law. The incident caused panic in the area. Police have apprehended the accused constable. The event took place in Umedi Bhantha, within the jurisdiction of the Hardi Bazaar police station. The CAF jawan, who was stationed at the protection detail for the Bango Dam in Korba district, arrived at his in-laws’ house in Umedi Bhantha directly from his duty this morning. He then used his rifle to fire indiscriminately at his uncle-in-law and the man’s daughter. Following the shooting, other family members fled the scene. The sound of gunfire caused widespread alarm in the neighborhood. The accused fled after the incident, but police arrived at the scene and arrested him. It is reported that the accused had divorced his wife a few years ago. There was ongoing dispute between the jawan’s family and the woman’s family. The jawan was reportedly troubled by the divorce, and this may have led him to commit the shooting at his in-laws’ residence.
