During the courtroom proceedings, the Central Bureau of Investigation claimed that former CGPSC chairman Tamam Sonvani supplied examination question papers to a select group of candidates from his home. The CBI alleges that the papers were passed on through then-exam sub-controller Lalit Ganvir and eventually reached a local businessman.
The agency’s filing suggests a deliberate attempt to influence the outcome of the competitive exams held between 2020 and 2022. The leaked papers allegedly gave certain aspirants an unfair edge, undermining the merit-based selection process for gazetted positions.
