CG News: Jitendra Sinha, Gariaband. The negligence of the electricity department in Fingeshwar in the district was heavy on the life of a contract worker. Vedprakash Sahu, a scorched laborer, died 6 days later while applying DO (drop out fuse) on the transformer. The accident happened when he was working on the transformer and suddenly the supply was started in the 33 KV line.
The incident took place on June 2, when the worker was climbed on the transformer without training. Vedprakash was hit by current due to sudden power supply restored during the work. Fellow employees immediately rushed him to Fingeshwar Community Health Center, from where he was referred to Raipur when the condition became critical. He finally died after struggling for six days.
In the accident, the serious negligence of Ravi Shankar Bansod, the lineman of the electricity department, has been revealed. Necessary safety standards were not followed before the power started, causing this accident. The department had already issued a notice to the lineman, but now after the death, everyone’s eyes are on the seriousness of the case and the direction of action.
Now it has to be seen what concrete steps the department takes on the culprits after the death of the contract employee, or this matter will also remain buried only on paper.
