The Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Department of Chhattisgarh has issued instructions to provide kerosene under the Public Distribution System (PDS) to ration cardholders with gas connections in non-scheduled areas of the state. Chhattisgarh has been allocated 1332 kiloliters of kerosene for the month of August. This will be distributed to beneficiaries through fair price shops. A letter to this effect has been issued by the Food Department located in Indravati Bhawan to all collectors of the state and the state-level coordinator of Oil Industry Raipur.
The letter states that all prevailing Antyodaya and priority ration cards under the Public Distribution System will be eligible. Ration cardholders in urban areas will be provided with one liter, and those in rural areas, including scheduled and non-scheduled areas, will be provided a maximum of two liters of kerosene. The allocated kerosene for the month of August 2025 is to be lifted by August 31.
The district-wise kerosene allocation for the state for the month of August is as follows: 48-48 kiloliters for Bastar, Kanker, Janjgir-Champa, Durg, Korba, Raigarh, Bemetara, Kawardha, and Sarangarh-Bilaigarh; 36-36 kiloliters for Dhamtari, Kondagaon, Mungeli, Balod, Rajnandgaon, Gariaband, Balrampur, Surajpur, and Shakti districts; 72-72 kiloliters for Bilaspur, Raipur, Surguja, and Jashpur; 60-60 kiloliters for Balodabazar-Bhatapara, Mahasamund; and 24-24 kiloliters for Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, Korea, Sukma, and Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi. Similarly, 12-12 kiloliters of kerosene has been allocated for Bijapur, Narayanpur, Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai, and Mohla-Manpur-Ambagarh Chowki districts.
