Manoj Yadav, Korba. A heartbreaking incident came to light from Korba district of Chhattisgarh. Angered by not getting married in Dondro village in Balko police station area, his own father was killed with an ax. The case came to light on 16 June 2024. Now the court has sentenced the accused of this heinous murder to life imprisonment.
The court of third Additional Sessions Judge Sunil Kumar sentenced the accused Ashok Kumar Kewat (30 years) to life imprisonment. Significantly, on the day of the incident, Ashok attacked his father Dilharan Kewat (55 years) with an ax and killed him. The police arrested the accused immediately after the incident and further action was taken.

According to the information, Ashok was the youngest of three brothers. Both of his elder brothers were married and they lived separately with their families. Ashok lived with his father Dilharan. Dilharan was living farming and working as wages. Ashok used to do all the work from cleanliness of the house to cooking for the father.
It is being told that Ashok was worried about his marriage for a long time. He was angry due to no initiative despite the father’s saying in this regard several times. In this anger, he took a dreadful step.
