Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai meets Union Home Minister
Information given on the achievements of Naxal operations and the development of Bastar
New Delhi, June 6, 2025- Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai met Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah in New Delhi on Friday. During this, the Chief Minister gave detailed information about the successes of anti-Maoist operations in the state so far and the development works going on in Bastar region. On this occasion, Chhattisgarh’s Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma and Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Singh were present.
The Chief Minister said that the new strategy of the state government and the cooperation of the Centre have brought the Naxal eradication campaign to a decisive turning point. Positive results have been obtained from the intensive campaigns conducted in the last one and a half years. 1,428 Maoists have surrendered, which is a significant increase compared to the last five years.
Chief Minister Shri Sai informed that 427 Maoists were killed in 205 encounters, including top leaders of the organization like General Secretary Baswa Raju and Central Committee member Sudhakar. Along with this, 64 new forward security camps have been established in the state, which has strengthened the security network.
He said that basic facilities like electricity, drinking water, health services and schools are now being rapidly delivered to the villages around these security camps. Under the ‘Niyad Nellanar Yojana’, 18 types of community services and 25 types of government schemes are being implemented in an integrated manner in the identified 146 villages, which has increased the trust of the local people in the governance system.
Home Minister Amit Shah, while appreciating the progress report presented by Chief Minister Sai, said that the efforts of the Chhattisgarh government are making decisive control over Maoist activities possible and the central government will continue to provide all possible assistance to the state.
