Chhattisgarh DA Hike 2026: Staff and Pensioners Get Diwali Relief
Chhattisgarh has announced a fresh increase in Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief, bringing the rate to 60 percent from 58 percent. The change is set to take effect from 1 November 2026.
The increase of 2 percentage points applies to both serving government employees and retired pensioners in the state. The government has described the decision as a festive gift that will ease financial pressure before Diwali.
An estimated 3 lakh 85 thousand government staff and 1 lakh 50 thousand pensioners stand to gain from the revision. Their monthly receipts will rise once the new rate is implemented.
The decision carries a monthly cost of around 36 crore rupees for the state treasury, or 432 crore rupees each year. The government will therefore have to set aside this additional sum in its annual budget.
Speaking on the decision, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said the government is attentive to the needs of employees and pensioners, and expressed hope that the announcement would brighten the Diwali celebrations of their families.
