Chhattisgarh Excise Department's Big Action: Two Sub-Inspectors Suspended in Overcharging Case

Raipur, The Excise Commissioner of Chhattisgarh has taken strict action in cases of selling liquor at prices higher than the prescribed rate and negligence in control at liquor shops in various districts of the state, suspending two sub-inspectors of excise. This action was taken based on the investigation report of the state-level flying squad. The suspended officials include Mr. Asharam Shakya (Sub-Inspector of Excise) from Gurur in Balod district and Mr. P. Madhav Rao (Sub-Inspector of Excise), in-charge of the country liquor composite liquor shop located in village Rohasi, Balodabazar-Bhatapara district.

In another case, due to lax control, negligence in duty, and indifference of Mrs. Nilofer Jain, Assistant District Excise Officer, who was in-charge and divisional in-charge of the country composite liquor shop Arkar, Balod district, the Excise Commissioner has issued a letter to the Secretary, Commercial Tax (Excise) Department, for taking disciplinary action against the ADEO.
