Chhattisgarh has demonstrated a remarkable improvement in urban sanitation, with 115 cities in the state improving their rankings in the Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 survey. This accomplishment highlights the dedication of urban bodies within the state. A total of 25 cities from Chhattisgarh secured positions in the top 100 nationwide, a substantial increase from the previous year when only 16 cities achieved this. Furthermore, 62 urban bodies have enhanced their Garbage-Free City star ratings, and the number of cities achieving Single, Three, and Five-star ratings has increased from 71 to 114. Raipur, the capital city, has achieved the highest Seven-star rating, along with Water Plus city status.
