Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah recently met with officials in New Delhi who played a crucial role in the recent anti-Naxal operations, congratulating them on the historic success of these operations. He affirmed the Modi government’s commitment to freeing India from the scourge of Naxalism. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma were present at the event.
In a post on X, the Home Minister stated, “I met with officials who played a significant role in the recent anti-Naxal operations and congratulated them on the historic success of these operations. I am also eager to meet the soldiers who made these operations successful with their bravery and will visit Chhattisgarh soon to meet them. The Modi government is committed to freeing India from the scourge of Naxalism.”
It is noteworthy that under the direction of the Union Home and Cooperation Minister, anti-Maoist operations are being conducted by security forces in Chhattisgarh. As part of this, in an operation conducted by the Chhattisgarh Police (including DRG forces of District Narayanpur, Dantewada, Kondagaon, and Bijapur Police) from May 18, 2025 to May 21, 2025, in the internal areas of Abujhmar, 27 Naxals, including Basavaraju alias Gaganna, the General Secretary and Politburo member of CPI (Maoist), were killed in an encounter in the forests of village Boter on May 21, 2025, and a large amount of arms and ammunition were recovered.
Chhattisgarh’s Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Director General of Police (Anti-Naxal Operations/SIB/STF) Vivekanand, Inspector General of Police of Bastar Range Sundarraj, Superintendent of Police of Narayanpur Prabhat Kumar, Superintendent of Police of Bijapur Jitendra Yadav, and Superintendent of Police of Naxal-free district Bastar Shalabh Singh were honored by Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah. Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Director of the Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka, and several other senior officials were present on the occasion.
