Raipur, November 15, 2025/ During his Bilaspur visit today, Chief Minister Mr. Vishnudev Sai gave a new gift of development to the district by inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for 47 development works costing more than Rs 329 crore 77 lakh at the Tribal Pride Day program organized at the Police Ground. This includes the foundation stone for 42 works costing over Rs 309 crore 95 lakh and the inauguration of 5 works costing Rs 19 crore 18 lakh.
Chief Minister Mr. Sai inaugurated the Divisional Commissioner’s office constructed at a cost of Rs 11 crore 91 lakh 17 thousand in Koni. In the same sequence, the statue of Raja Raghuraj Singh, built at a cost of Rs 11 lakh, was also unveiled. Under Smart City, the foundation stone was laid for the construction of Vande Mataram Udyan and STP under Dual Piping at a cost of Rs 6 crore 99 lakh, returning wall, interlocking porch, tiles and channel link fencing at a cost of Rs 30 lakh 33 thousand in Ward No. 18 of Bilaspur Municipal Corporation, and the new building of Primary School Lalkhadan at a cost of Rs 50 lakh. He also laid the foundation stone for the proposed Bhaisajhar Lift Irrigation Scheme at Kota Bhaisajhar at a cost of Rs 4 crore 43 lakh. Along with this, the foundation stone for the construction of Mahatari Sadan at Tikri and Chilhati at a cost of Rs 30-30 lakh was also laid.
In addition, Mr. Sai laid the foundation stone for various works related to the upgrade and construction of roads, bridges, and irrigation structures in the district, including the upgrade of Sirgitti-Sarwani-Pasid-Amlidih-Bartori-Dagori road for Rs 69 crore 79 lakh 94 thousand, Nehru Chowk-Darriaghat road (10.70 km) for Rs 32 crore 9 lakh 15 thousand, Koni-Mopka bypass road (13.40 km) for Rs 59 crore 55 lakh 27 thousand,
Karma-Barbhatha-Sargadhodi road (4.20 km) for Rs 4 crore 78 lakh 86 thousand, strengthening of Bilaspur-Ratanpur-Katghora road (1.40 km) for Rs 2 crore 99 lakh 87 thousand, Bhardaiadih-Kalmitar road (2.30 km) for Rs 2 crore 89 lakh, Sipat Nawadih Chowk-Darrabhatha-Leelagar Bridge road (4.525 km) for Rs 6 crore 70 lakh 58 thousand, bridge and approach road over Dabki Nala for Rs 2 crore 20 lakh 91 thousand, CC road from Janji village to CISF Colony (1.675 km) for Rs 6 crore 96 lakh 84 thousand,
and the construction of a new community hall for Rs 99 lakh 99 thousand.
Chief Minister Mr. Sai laid the foundation stone for several major bridge construction works in various rural and tribal areas of Bilaspur district, including the road construction from Shivghat Barrage to Mangla STP (Rs 8 crore 12 lakh 68 thousand), construction of major bridges at a cost of crores of rupees on roads like Bagdharra-Gaurkhuri, Sargod-Kurdar, Jharna-Baiga Mohalla, Bagathpara, etc., important bridge construction at Ama-Gohan-Chhaparapara and Kumhda-Khol under PM Janman Yojana, and upgrade, lining, and repair works of reservoirs and canals at Kharang, Kopra, Bahatrai, Pendari, Lakhram, Akaltari.
Through all these development works, a historic step has been taken towards strengthening the infrastructure, irrigation facilities, educational structure, urban development, and road connectivity in Bilaspur district. This comprehensive development resolve will not only meet the current needs but also lay a strong foundation for establishing Bilaspur as a modern, capable, and prosperous district in the years to come.
