Chief Minister Mr. Sai said that this decision will prove to be an important step towards making the Public Distribution System (PDS) technology-based, more transparent, accountable, and citizen-centric. Chief Minister Mr. Vishnudev Sai said that the double-engine government is committed to ensuring that the benefits of schemes reach the poor with one hundred percent transparency. Through SARTHAK-PDS Phase-2, the ration distribution system will be further strengthened with arrangements like AI-enabled beneficiary registry, GPS tracking, QR code tagging, real-time monitoring, and modern supply chain management. This will ensure that the benefits of subsidized grains and food security schemes reach eligible beneficiaries in a timely and transparent manner. Chief Minister Mr. Sai said that this decision of the central government is not limited to technological upgradation, but will also strengthen the distribution system by providing financial support to the states for the increasing costs of ration transportation, handling, and operation of fair price shops. The provision for an increase in the remuneration of ration shop dealers will make the system more effective at the ground level. Chief Minister Mr. Sai expressed confidence that this scheme, to be operated till March 31, 2031, will play a significant role in ensuring the food security of crores of beneficiaries of the National Food Security Act (NFSA). He said that the use of innovations like AI, machine learning, blockchain, and digital monitoring will give new strength to transparency, accountability, and public trust in the public distribution system, and will further strengthen Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi's resolve to ensure the benefits of schemes reach the person standing at the last end. The Chief Minister said that this decision is not just about modernizing ration distribution, but about strengthening trust, convenience, and good governance in the lives of the poor. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi for this important decision dedicated to poverty alleviation.
