Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has instructed relevant parties to promote the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana to move Chhattisgarh towards pollution-free electricity. He emphasized that the objective of the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana is to make consumers self-reliant in the field of electricity and reduce monthly electricity bills by utilizing solar energy to the maximum extent possible by installing solar energy plants as per the needs of each household. Under the scheme, a subsidy ranging from ₹45,000 to ₹1,08,000 will be provided by the central and state governments for installing rooftop solar power plants from one watt to three kilowatts.
According to information received from the Chief Engineer, Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited, Raipur, all regular officers/employees of Chhattisgarh State Electricity Company are advised to install rooftop solar power plants in their residential premises to promote the use of renewable energy under the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana. For solar plants, a subsidy ranging from ₹45,000 to ₹1,08,000 is provided as central and state financial assistance. He said that officers/employees should ensure the establishment of rooftop solar plants in their own residential premises. Officers/employees residing in board quarters, rented houses, or multi-story buildings can install rooftop solar power plants on their own or ancestral houses located in their hometown (Chhattisgarh state). Officers/employees residing in multi-story buildings can apply in coordination with the residential society members through virtual net metering. Under the scheme, a subsidy ranging from ₹45,000 to ₹1,08,000 will be provided by the central and state governments for installing rooftop solar power plants from one watt to three kilowatts.
