Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai acknowledged the Sen Samaj as a progressive community with a glorious history, whose contributions to social, economic, and cultural fields are unparalleled. He emphasized their significant role in the advancement and development of Chhattisgarh. Speaking at the Sen Samaj women’s district presidents and talent felicitation ceremony in Raipur, Chief Minister Sai announced a grant of ₹20 lakh for a social building for the Sen Samaj in Balod Nagar. The event commenced with the Chief Minister paying homage to Sen Maharaj and lighting a lamp.
Chief Minister Sai further stated that education is crucial for societal transformation, particularly emphasizing the need to advance women’s education. He noted that an educated woman benefits the entire family, and a strong woman leads to a strong society and a strong nation. The government believes that women are the foundation of nation-building. He highlighted the contributions of various Sen Samaj talents, including the late Shri Karpuri Thakur, and appreciated the community’s efforts to address social disparities, assuring the government’s full support for the Sen Samaj’s development and upliftment.
Chief Minister Sai also mentioned the government’s initiatives to strengthen the economic status of the state’s farmers and the launch of several schemes for women, empowering them financially. He cited the implementation of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, a component of Modi’s guarantee, benefiting 70 lakh women in the state. This scheme aims to provide financial independence to the women of Chhattisgarh, enabling them to play a stronger role in their families and society.
Chief Minister Sai added that the central government’s Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao initiative aims to improve the sex ratio, promote girl child education, and foster a positive attitude towards women in society. He stressed that daughters are a source of pride, and the government is ensuring their education and safety through this scheme. The event was also addressed by MLA Shri Purandar Mishra and Citizen Supplies Corporation Chairman Shri Sanjay Srivastava.
On this occasion, talented students, artists, and women social workers from the Sen Samaj were honored with shawls and mementos. The event was attended by Chhattisgarh State Hair Crafts Welfare Board President Ms. Mona Sen, Chhattisgarh Sarva Sen Samaj State President Shri Puneet Sen, and a large number of community members.
