Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on Friday evening. During the meeting, the Chief Minister provided a detailed overview of the successes of anti-Maoist operations in the state and the ongoing development work in the Bastar region. The Chief Minister stated that the state government’s new strategy and the cooperation of the central government have brought the Naxal eradication campaign to a decisive stage. Positive results have been achieved from the intensive operations carried out in the last one and a half years.
He informed the Union Home Minister that 1,428 Maoists have surrendered, a significant increase compared to the past five years. Chief Minister Sai also reported that 427 Maoists were killed in 205 encounters, including top leaders of the organization such as General Secretary Basava Raju and Central Committee member Sudhakar.
CM Sai mentioned that 64 new forward security camps have been established in the state, strengthening the security network. Basic facilities like electricity, drinking water, health services, and schools are being rapidly provided to the villages around these security camps. Under the ‘Niyad Nellanar Yojana,’ 18 types of community services and 25 types of government schemes are being implemented in an integrated manner in the identified 146 villages, increasing the local people’s trust in the government.
