For this girl from Dunderra village in Dongargarh block of Rajnandgaon district, the National Child Health Program (Chirayu) has become the beginning of a new life. Due to congenital hearing impairment, Jivika was unable to hear and speak like normal children. It was a matter of concern for the family, but timely health check-ups and the support of the government health system have given new life to their hopes.

During a regular health check-up at Anganwadi Center No.-1, Dunderra, the RBSK Team-A, Dongargarh identified Jivika's problem. Without wasting any time, the team conducted necessary medical examinations, consulted with specialists, and referred her to AIIMS Raipur. Here, specialist doctors performed her successful cochlear implant. Now, with regular speech therapy and rehabilitation, Jivika will gradually be able to familiarize herself with the world of sounds and learn to speak like normal children.

The National Child Health Program is becoming a new ray of hope in the lives of thousands of such children. Under the program, congenital disorders, nutritional problems, developmental delays, and other serious illnesses are identified in a timely manner, and free treatment is provided to children. If needed, they are referred to higher health institutions and provided with modern medical facilities.
