Children of labor families will get free education in big schools, CM Say says - your success is our greatest happiness. The Chief Minister honored the children of labor families, sat down to eat with them and shared his life experiences. Raipur / Laborers are the strong foundation of our development. Through their hard work they build roads, buildings, bridges and many development structures. Providing children of labor families with good education and equal opportunities to progress in life is a priority of the state government. Labor family children will study, move forward, fulfill their dreams, and only then will the commitment to a developed Chhattisgarh and a developed India be realized. Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Say addressed today the award ceremony of the Atal Excellent Education Scheme held at the Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in the capital Raipur. During the ceremony the Chief Minister had a heartfelt dialogue with children studying under the scheme and honored students who performed excellently in education, sports, art and co‑scholastic activities, boosting their enthusiasm. During the program, under various labor welfare schemes, assistance amounting to more than Rs 39 crore 67 lakh was transferred via direct benefit transfer to the bank accounts of 1,45,841 laborers. The Chief Minister said he was extremely pleased to see children of labor families today confidently speaking English in proper uniforms, excelling in education along with sports and other activities. Their confidence proves that with proper opportunity and good education no circumstance can stop talent from advancing. He said the Atal Excellent Education Scheme began last year with 100 children. This year, it has been expanded to 200 children who are given the opportunity to study in prestigious private residential schools. Selected bright children from all 33 districts of the state are receiving free quality education from class 6 to 12 in renowned schools such as Rajkumar College, Delhi Public School and Roongta Public School. The Chief Minister said that schools which once seemed unreachable for children of labor families are now being made possible by the state government. The scheme is not just about getting children into good schools, but about providing a better environment, confidence and equal opportunities to achieve their dreams. The hard work of laborers builds the strong foundation of development. Chief Minister Shri Say paid tribute to the contribution of laborers in building the state and the nation, from high city buildings to village roads, bridges and many infrastructure projects. The government’s duty is to ensure safety, respect and prosperity for laborers and their families who contribute to nation‑building. He said that through the three divisions of the Labor Department, 67 welfare schemes are being implemented for laborers, covering education, health, maternity assistance, disability assistance, pensions, skill upgradation, employment and housing among other life‑stage supports. The government ensures transparent delivery of these schemes to eligible laborers and direct transfer of funds to their bank accounts. The Chief Minister referenced efforts under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership to protect the social and economic interests of laborers, strengthening social security and providing better education, health and employment opportunities for their families. Education is the core mantra of development; circumstances cannot stop progress. While speaking warmly with children, he also shared his own struggles and experiences, urging them that regardless of circumstances, education, hard work and determination can move them forward. He encouraged them to dream big and decide in which field they wish to serve the nation and the state—whether as doctors, engineers, scientists, administrators, entrepreneurs, social workers or any other profession. He emphasized that education is the solid foundation for any goal, and urged disciplined, diligent and confident pursuit of opportunities. He noted that Chhattisgarh now has prestigious national institutions like IIT, IIM and AIIMS for higher education, and arrangements are being made for loans for higher studies and assistance for studying abroad for children of labor families. The government wants economic conditions not to hinder any talented child’s education or dreams. New doors of education and development are also opening in Naxal‑affected areas. After the formation of Chhattisgarh, Naxalism was a major obstacle to development. Thanks to Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the double‑engine government’s coordinated efforts, and the bravery of security forces, decisive success has been achieved against Naxalism. Areas that once had limited access to education and development now have new opportunities. Important initiatives like Education City are being undertaken in Orcha and Jagargunda. The goal is to provide children from remote districts such as Bastar the same quality education and opportunities as urban children. The Chief Minister said that following Prime Minister Modi’s mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” the Chhattisgarh government is linking every section of society to the main stream of development. To realize the 2047 vision of a developed India, education and development opportunities must reach even the last person in society. Providing excellent education to children of labor families is a crucial step in that direction. In the past two and a half years, more than Rs 774 crore has been transferred via DBT into laborers’ accounts. Labor Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Devangan said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Say, continuous new initiatives are being taken to strengthen social security for laborers and their families. Through the three divisions of the Labor Department, 67 welfare schemes are currently benefiting laborers. In the last two and a half years, over Rs 774 crore has been transferred directly to laborers’ accounts via DBT. The government aims to ensure that a laborer’s child does not limit their dreams because of circumstances, but obtains quality education to become doctors, engineers, IAS officers, scientists, entrepreneurs or achieve heights in any chosen field. The Labor Minister mentioned that as employment scenarios change, the scope of labor welfare schemes is also expanding, including assistance for parcel delivery workers to buy vehicles and economic support for shepherds. Revenue Minister Shri Tankaram Verma said that under Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Say’s leadership, the state government is committed to the welfare of every section of society. Building a developed Chhattisgarh is essential to achieving a developed India, and every family must be taken along the journey of development. The Atal Excellent Education Scheme provides a great opportunity for children of labor families to move forward. He appealed to students to work hard and move toward their goals with dedication. Dr. Rampratap Singh said that providing quality education to children of labor families is a top government priority. The Atal Excellent Education Scheme has opened doors of prestigious schools for talented children from such families, allowing them to hone their talent and reach new heights. He urged students to study earnestly and bring honor to their parents and Chhattisgarh. One child dreams of becoming an IAS officer, another gained confidence in speaking English. At the ceremony, students studying under the Atal Excellent Education Scheme shared their experiences. Their joy at new opportunities was evident along with confidence in their big future aspirations. At Delhi Public School Rajnandgaon, Bijapur’s Atish said he never imagined he would get a chance to study at such a prestigious school. The scheme gave him the chance to excel in academics, sports and other activities. He also shared his dream of becoming an IAS officer to serve the nation and state. At Roongta Public School, Kabirdham student Ishika Dahre said she initially doubted she could speak English fluently. The new school environment and opportunities boosted her confidence. Parents also expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and state government, stating that previously it was difficult to send their children to prestigious private residential schools, but the scheme realized their children’s better future dreams. The most heartfelt moment of the ceremony was when Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Say sat down for lunch with the children of labor families. He sat among the children, interacting as if they were family members. In an informal dialogue, children asked open questions about his childhood, studies, favorite food and life struggles. The Chief Minister answered each question with a smile, sharing his experiences and inspiring them with messages of hard work, discipline and lifelong learning. His ease and warmth deeply impressed the children. One child exclaimed enthusiastically, “The Chief Minister is like a good teacher for us; no matter how many questions we ask, he never gets annoyed and answers every one.” The children said that dining with the Chief Minister, speaking openly and sharing their dreams is an experience they will always remember. The Chief Minister told the children that their success will be the greatest happiness for the government and their parents. He urged them to study hard, keep their dreams big, and when they succeed, always remember their duty to society and the state. Notably, through the Atal Excellent Education Scheme, registered skilled children of construction laborers are receiving free quality education from class 6 to 12 in top private residential schools. The scheme aims to ensure that economic conditions do not limit opportunities for talented children and to provide an excellent academic environment to prepare them for future challenges.
