Community Mourns Loss of Dedicated Officer Nidhi Netam in Kanpur District

Residents of Dhanora, Farsgaon and surrounding areas expressed profound sorrow following the untimely death of Deputy Tehsildar Nidhi S. Netam, who passed away at a private medical facility in Raipur on Monday night. The 30‑year‑old officer had been ill for several days and was admitted for specialized care when her condition worsened abruptly.

Having recently assumed the role of Deputy Tehsildar in Dhanora after a transfer, Netam was in the early stages of implementing administrative reforms. Her colleagues described her as a duty‑bound, easy‑going and sociable officer whose sudden departure has created a somber mood throughout the tehsil office.

Prior to her posting in Dhanora, Netam devoted about two and a half years to the Farsgaon Tehsil, where she handled revenue matters with responsibility and built a rapport with the public. Locals highlighted her approachable nature and readiness to assist, which explains why her death resonated deeply across the district.

Fellow officials praised her seriousness toward responsibilities while maintaining a friendly demeanor with staff and citizens alike. The department labeled her premature demise as a severe blow to the administration and extended condolences to her grieving family.

The funeral took place on Tuesday in Kanhpur, her home village in Sarona Tehsil, Kanpur district, where family, relatives, acquaintances and community members gathered to offer final respects.
