The Congress party has announced an economic blockade across the state for July 22nd. The move comes in response to the arrest of Chaitanya Baghel, son of former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, in connection with a money laundering case related to the liquor scam. The party has appointed various leaders to oversee the blockade efforts in different districts. Lakhmeshwar Baghel will be in charge of Bastar, while Mohan Markam will manage Kondagaon and Narayanpur. Umesh Patel has been assigned to Raigarh, Dr. Shivkumar Dahariya to Raipur, Dhirendra Sahu to Masturi, Girish Devangan to Durg, Purushottam Kanwar and Mohit Kerketta to Korba, Premsai Singh to Surguja, Ramkumar Yadav to Saraipali, Atal Srivastava to Bilaspur, and Vyas Kashyap to Janjgir-Champa.
