Delhi Weather: Yellow Alert as Rain Brings Relief from Heatwave

Maximum temperatures, which had been soaring to dangerous levels, are expected to drop to approximately 38 degrees Celsius. This shift is accompanied by high-velocity winds that are predicted to clear the persistent haze and dust, improving air quality and general comfort for commuters. Beyond the capital, the weather shift is having a profound impact on states like Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan. In Rajasthan, several districts have already reported substantial rainfall, with Chittorgarh recording a staggering 61mm recently. While Phalodi remains one of the warmest spots at 42.2 degrees, the overall trend points toward a gradual cooling across the desert state. In Uttar Pradesh, western regions are on alert for lightning and sudden squalls. These pre-monsoon activities are providing a necessary buffer before the official onset of the monsoon season, helping to replenish local water bodies and offer relief to the agricultural sector after a grueling heatwave.
