Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma appealed to follow the solid waste management rules at the Bhoramdev Saras Fair. He pledged cleanliness to the villagers. Raipur, during the holy Shravan month, the famous Bhoramdev Saras Fair in Kabirdham district is expected to attract millions of devotees this year. Considering the cleanliness and environmental protection of the fair, the Government of Chhattisgarh's Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma appealed to all shopkeepers and devotees to adhere to the Solid Waste Management Rules 2026. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma said that Bhoramdev shrine is an invaluable heritage of our faith, culture and nature. A large number of devotees attend the fair, and it is our responsibility to keep this sacred site clean and plastic-free. With everyone's cooperation, the natural beauty of the area will be preserved and our future will remain pollution-free. The Deputy Chief Minister emphasized that the regional Saras Fair and the entire Bhoramdev complex should be plastic-free. Instead of plastic, alternative cloth or jute bags should be used, which are eco-friendly. All shopkeepers and camp operators should keep wet and dry waste separately. Waste should be disposed only in designated waste carts and bins. All devotees were requested to bring cloth bags and water bottles from home and not to litter in the open. During the program, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma also administered a cleanliness oath to the present villagers, self-help group members, Mitanin sisters and cleanliness volunteers to follow the Solid Waste Management Rules 2026. In the oath, everyone pledged to separate waste, avoid using plastic and keep their village and Bhoramdev shrine clean. During this, all elected representatives and villagers pledged to make Kabirdham district plastic-free and promised to raise awareness among neighbours and other villagers for this cause.
