Deputy Chief Minister and Public Health Engineering Minister of Chhattisgarh, Arun Sao, visited the Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district amidst heavy rainfall on Thursday, announcing developmental projects worth crores of rupees. He inaugurated the statues of Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee and dedicated Atal complexes across four urban bodies in the district: Sarangarh, Pavni, Bhatgaon, and Sarsinwa. Arun Sao highlighted that the state of Chhattisgarh was a result of the vision of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and that the Atal complexes were constructed in his honor. He urged local residents to maintain the cleanliness and safety of these complexes. Financial approvals include 5.30 crore for a water augmentation scheme in Nagar Panchayat Pavni, along with PM housing for 26 families, 1.64 crore from councilor funds, and an additional 1 crore for development works. In Bhatgaon, a 14 crore water augmentation scheme has been completed, with 3.05 crore approved for PM housing for 99 families, and 1 crore for other developmental works. Sarsinwa Nagar Panchayat received approval for 2 crore in development works, an 8.50 crore tap water connection scheme, and PM housing for 31 families. The Sarangarh Municipality was granted 8.18 crore, a 6.40 crore drainage construction plan, and a 4.41 crore allocation for the construction of a 250-seater Nalanda Library, along with 2 crore for other development projects. The Deputy CM also distributed keys to newly constructed houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to eligible beneficiaries, emphasizing the government’s commitment to providing permanent housing to every needy person. The inauguration of the Atal complexes and the announcement of various schemes have brought a new impetus to development in the Sarangarh-Bilaigarh district.
