'Developed Agriculture Resolve' Echoes in Rural Areas of Narayanpur

Raipur, May 24, 2026/ A major campaign to transform the agricultural sector in the remote forest areas of Abujhmad and Narayanpur in Chhattisgarh has been successfully completed. The 'Developed Agriculture Resolve Campaign' was widely organized from May 5 to May 20, 2026, in various development blocks and remote rural areas of the district under the joint aegis of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Narayanpur and the Department of Agriculture. Under this 15-day campaign, special camps and training programs were successfully organized in a total of 48 villages, including Bawadi, Karlakha, Kodoli, Kokmeda, Benur, Irakbhatti, Devgaon, Remawand, Kandadi, Kudla, Mahimagawadi, Jharawahi, Dhanora, Nednar, Barehbeda, Nelangur, Padamkot, Kurusnar, Basing, Kachhapal, Akabeda, Borand, Borpal, Palki, Kasturmeta, and Garhbengal. Farmer-Scientist Dialogue: Preparations for the Upcoming Kharif and Technical Guidance During the campaign, 'Farmer-Scientist Dialogue' was organized keeping in mind the preparations for the upcoming Kharif season, in which agricultural scientists directly visited fields and village squares to teach farmers the techniques of advanced farming. Dr. Harendra Tondey, a scientist from the center, advised on the balanced use of chemical fertilizers to maintain soil fertility for a long time and emphasized adopting organic and natural farming. To reduce farmers' dependence on expensive chemicals, Dr. Alia Afroz, a pest scientist, provided practical information on the manufacturing methods and usage of locally prepared natural pesticides—Neemastra, Brahmastra, and Agniyastra—so that farmers can effectively control pests at low cost. Meanwhile, Dr. Lalit Kumar Verma, an horticultural scientist, informed farmers about scientific farming methods for fruits, vegetables, and medicinal crops, and also shared techniques for increasing income through the selection of improved varieties and value addition of crops. Coordination of Government Schemes and Digital Agriculture Along with scientists, officials from various government departments also participated in this mega-campaign, who familiarized the villagers with the government's ambitious welfare schemes. The Department of Agriculture highlighted the implementation of Agristack, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, and the Soil Health Card scheme under Digital Agriculture. Officials motivated farmers to use fertilizers only in the recommended quantities based on their soil test reports. Veterinary department officials made livestock owners aware of regular vaccination to protect their animals, symptoms of major diseases, and their proper treatment. Additionally, the Department of Fisheries provided information about various government subsidy schemes related to fish farming, modern fish farming techniques, and better pond management, enabling farmers to diversify their income sources. Steps Towards Economic Self-Reliance The main objective of this entire 15-day intensive campaign was to make the rural and tribal families of Narayanpur district economically strong and self-reliant. Farmers were made thoroughly aware of new agricultural practices, advanced techniques, soil management, crop diversification, and measures to reduce production costs. With the integration of animal husbandry and fisheries along with traditional farming, farmers in the region are now writing a new chapter of economic self-reliance by diversifying their income sources.
