A shocking incident has occurred in the Biroda village of Abhanpur police station area, located near the capital city of Raipur. Unidentified assailants broke into a house and brutally murdered an elderly couple by slitting their throats. The double homicide has sent shockwaves throughout the region. The deceased have been identified as Bhukhan Dhruva (62 years old) and his wife Rukhamani Dhruva (60 years old).
Preliminary investigations suggest that the attackers first killed the elderly man while he was asleep, then chased and murdered the woman. The woman’s body was found on the ground, soaked in blood, while the elderly man’s body was found on a cot.
As soon as the police were informed about the incident, a team including the SP, ASP, CSP, station in-charge, ACCU, FSL, dog squad, and fingerprint experts arrived at the scene. The entire house and surrounding area were sealed, and an investigation was launched. The police are questioning the villagers and, initially, are considering personal enmity or old grudges as the reason for the incident. For now, the police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and are conducting an in-depth investigation into the causes of the murder after the panchnama proceedings.
