An encounter took place between Naxals and security forces in Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh. Two Maoists were killed in the clash. The bodies of the deceased Naxals were recovered from the scene, along with an AK-47, other weapons, and a large quantity of explosive materials. The encounter occurred following intelligence reports of a significant Naxal presence in the Abujhmad area, bordering Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh. Security forces launched a search operation based on this information. Naxals opened fire on the approaching security forces, prompting a retaliatory response. Intermittent firing continues between the two sides. Along with the bodies, an AK-47 rifle, other weapons, a significant amount of explosive materials, Maoist literature, propaganda materials, and items for daily use were recovered. The search operation is ongoing, and further details will be provided after its completion. Furthermore, a Naxal memorial in Otherbeda and Wattekel villages was destroyed in a separate operation on September 20 by the DRG Narayanpur and ITBP teams, which was built to commemorate Naxals killed in a previous encounter, to spread fear and influence among the villagers.
